The reveal happened in a special Nintendo Direct that focused exclusively on the forthcoming animated feature. The sequel to the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this new installment will send Mario to the far corners of the cosmos. Along the way, he discovers a different royal figure and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the son of the King of the Koopas. A Space-Faring Quest Drawing from Beloved Titles In the vein of the Wii console classics that act as its source material, Mario will leave behind the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. During his grand adventure, he will meet again some recognizable characters, such as the Luma, a breakout star from the first movie. But it appears Mario and his brother Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who seemingly wields metal-based powers. Worth mentioning, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-inspired imagery; it also features references to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury. All-Star Vocal Ensemble Come Back and Grow The film will feature once again of the primary vocal talent, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
