It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's difficult for their batters to hold a record if not provided the chance.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to produce her newest gem.

Then best known as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her bow and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this innings was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts activate and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the opening delivery and from there the right-hander was on her way.

"The possibility to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was dismissed Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament should hear.

During the last week a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this success following victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wished she had played with the discomfort.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this championship is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as captain.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
