Alarming Footage Captures Point Police Are Stabbed in Unexpected Assault

Both Senior Officers Instants Prior to the Attacker Received Electric Shock

A ranking policeman that leaped to the assistance of a partner who was ambushed by a knifeman received the Royal Recognition for Courage.

Sgt Tim Ansell grappled with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he held a knife to the neck of his partner Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the law enforcement personnel and their third officer, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a driver following a traffic accident in that location in July 2023.

Brown knifed and cut both Sgt Ansell and Sgt Foster before PC Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a Taser.

"Officer stabbed," PC Wolstencroft could be heard saying over his radio.

Officer-mounted and dashboard camera video made public by the agency depicted Brown, who was dressed in black with a head covered, approach to Sgt Foster from behind with a weapon pointed forward.

He collided with the policeman who lost balance and dropped to the pavement, after which Sgt Ansell stepped in and struggled to restrain him to the pavement despite being multiple times hit with the weapon.

PC Wolstencroft Stunned the Assailant, Jacob Brown, with a Taser

PC Wolstencroft drew his Taser and sought a clear shot, concluding the struggle to an finish.

Sgt Ansell stated audibly: "Can I get assistance on my throat here, I'm bleeding in the throat."

Sergeant Ansell received multiple deep cuts to his neck and additional injuries to his limbs and torso, while Sgt Foster received cut injuries.

Officials said Sergeant Foster employed his hands to control his fellow officer's bleeding before medical personnel reached the scene.

The latest honor comes subsequent to the three officers were granted departmental Valor Recognitions in late 2023 and the police federation award from the area Police Federation in early 2024.

They further earned a Area Valor Recognition in summer 2024.

"The actions of the entire team ultimately rescued one another and ensured no civilians experienced any harm."

Brown received a sentence to an psychiatric detention in spring 2024, per the department.
